The United States of America (USA) Women’s National Team will play its first-ever home bilateral series at the storied Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s cricket history. From April 25 to May 3, 2025, the series will include two One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals against the Zimbabwe women’s squad.

In addition to being a major turning point for women’s cricket in the US, this eagerly awaited series also feeds the two teams’ escalating rivalry. In October 2024, Zimbabwe welcomed the USA for five One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The Americans made a strong impression by winning two matches.
USA Cricket has made some significant changes in an effort to promote up-and-coming talent while preserving team continuity. Sadly, Anika Kolan, who was first declared the T20I captain, is now sidelined by injury. The wicketkeeper Pooja Ganesh has been called up as a backup. Furthermore, USA Cricket’s dedication to nurturing talent through its national pathway is further demonstrated by the announcement of Mitali Patwardhan’s first senior squad call-up.
Aditiba Chudasama will captain the side in all formats, with Disha Dhingra to serve as her deputy in the ODIs, and Chetna Reddy Pagydyala will be the vice-captain in the T20Is. Due to scheduling difficulties, Isani Vaghela residing in the United Kingdom, will not be able to participate for the team during the ODI leg.
Nadia Gruny, chair of the Women’s Cricket Committee, said she was thrilled and stated, “We are pleased to welcome Zimbabwe Cricket for our first-ever women’s bilateral T20I and ODI series on home soil. We’re even more excited to build on the momentum of regular international fixtures from the start of the year and give our women the chance to gain crucial ranking points in both formats while building the depth of our squad.”
Fresh off a successful run at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Regional Qualifier in Argentina, where USA finished as table toppers, they will eye to continue their winning momentum. This bilateral match is an important stage in preparation for the team hoping to make its first appearance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with all eyes on the 2026 T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.
The USA vs. Zimbabwe series represents the rising prominence and infrastructure of women’s cricket in the USA and is more than just a cricket match. Grand Prairie Stadium will stage competitive international women’s cricket, allowing spectators nationwide to observe firsthand the quick development of a team that is determined to create headlines throughout the world.
