Lucy Barnett, the Isle of Man’s 18-year-old cricketing prodigy, has redefined raw talent, blazing into the record books as the youngest at the age of 18 Years and 196 Days and fastest player in terms of innings (26) to smash 1,000 Women’s T20I runs. She surpassed Tanzania’s Fatuma Kibasu (30 innings) to be the fastest to the feat and India’s Shafali Verma as the youngest to reach the landmark.

Her historic moment arrived in style against Jersey on 20th April 2025 during the Cyprus Quadrangular Series, a tournament uniting Associate nations Denmark, Jersey, hosts Cyprus, and her own Isle of Man. Barnett, a batting dynamo and crafty off-spin bowler, epitomises the modern all-rounder, fearless with the bat, shrewd with the ball, and relentlessly driven on the international stage.

Her best performance with the bat in the tournament came on 18th April 2025, when she scored 75 (49 balls) with the bat against the hosts, Cyprus. Her overall tally of runs (1,014 runs) includes 10 half-centuries, including the high score of 96 (62 balls) against Greece on 24th August 2024.
Apart from her exploits with the bat, she also picked up five wickets at an impressive average of 18.40 and an economy of 4.60 in six innings. Her best performance with the ball in the tournament came in that very game when she scored 75 (49 balls) with the bat.
She capped off a dream day on the field by returning with exceptional match-figures of 4-1-10-3 in her spell with the ball for her side, which also happens to be her career-best bowling figures in the format, creating a major all-round impact on the game for her side. She was also awarded the Player of the Match in that game.
Her overall tally of 29 wickets at an outstanding average of 11.34 and an economy of 3.45 in 26 innings signifies her effectiveness with the ball for her side in the format. She also has the highest strike rate of 142.21 among all the active batters in Women’s T20Is.
