The Jersey women’s cricket team has announced its squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier Division Two tournament in Italy. The competition featuring six teams will see the top sides advance to the top tier of qualifying in the Netherlands this August.

Jersey’s women’s team has demonstrated remarkable progress over the years. They clinched the title in Dreux France, going unbeaten in all the four matches against France, Austria and Spain, momentarily becoming the table toppers.
Jersey was also crowned as the champions of the 2024 inaugural Women’s European Cricket Championship Challenger Division. They claimed the title having gone on an unbeaten run through the group stages. In the final Jersey posted a modest total of 70 runs and their bowlers staged a stunning comeback dismissing Germany for 55 to secure a historic 15-run victory with a promotion to next year’s Premier Division.
Jersey also enters the tournament with momentum, having remained unbeaten in all of their six matches of their 2025 T20 international in Cyprus over Easter. Jersey beat the Isle of Man by nine wickets and eight wickets in their two games, registered 76-run and eight-wicket wins over Cyprus and beat Denmark by 145 runs and eight wickets.
Batting guns Aimee Aikenhead scored 220 runs and Analise Merritt scored 165 in all the six games making them the top-scorer. Florence Tanguy and skipper Chole Greechan each took 10 wickets across the six matches in the Cyprus WT20I Cup.
The only change to the squad from that series is the inclusion of Kate Follain, who is set to make her international debut. The team led by skipper Chloe Greechan and vice-captain Mia Maguire will commence their campaign against hosts Italy on Saturday. Subsequent matches will be played against Germany, Spain, the Isle of Man, and Sweden in a round-robin format.
Head coach Darren Thomas expressed, “The squad has prepared really well over the winter and we’re coming into this tournament on the back of some strong pre-season fixtures, which has given us confidence. It’s a young group with lots of potential – they’re settled, know each other well, and we’ve built a good team dynamic. As their exposure to competitive cricket continues to grow, the experience will stand them in good stead as we head into the European Qualifier.”
