The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 has reached its climax, with only the ‘Super Three’ fixtures remaining. The final stage features the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, and Nepal—the top teams from each of the three groups. The tournament has seen intense competition as teams vied for a coveted spot in the global qualifiers.

United Arab Emirates Women (UAE)
The UAE women’s team has showcased their prowess with an unbeaten run in the group stage. They began their campaign with a 9-wicket victory against Malaysia. Batting first, Malaysia posted a total of 30 in a 7-over truncated match. Katie Thompson was exceptional with the ball, picking up 4/7. The chase was calmly led by Lavanya Keny and captain Esha Oza. However, the most talked-about match was against Qatar, where UAE stunned the cricketing world by strategically retiring all their batters after the openers scored 192 runs. Their bold move paid off as they bowled out Qatar and secured a massive 163-run victory. The team stands tall with 6 points. Their comprehensive victories are evidence of their advancement to the Super Three.
Thailand Women
With Thailand hosting the tournament, the home team has demonstrated consistent form throughout the group stage. They commenced their campaign with an eight-wicket victory over Kuwait. Thailand’s experienced bowlers, spearheaded by Priyada Murali, dismantled the top order and restricted Kuwait to just 56 runs. Aphisara Suwanchonrathi steadily chased the target.
With two matches abandoned, the hosts secured their other victory by 45 runs against Bhutan. In the rain-curtailed match, the hosts posted a total of 88 runs, anchored by Chanida Sutthiruang and Nannapat Koncharoenkai. Bhutan folded for just 45 runs against Thailand’s bowlers, especially Suleeporn Laomi. Leveraging their home advantage and disciplined bowling, Thailand has now secured their spot in the Super Three.
Nepal Women
Nepal has fought hard to reach this stage. With their opening match being abandoned, they held high hopes and secured a 9-wicket victory against Bahrain Women. In the rain-curtailed 5 overs match, Bahrain posted a total of 41 runs with 1 loss. The chase was smoothly executed by Samjhana Khadka and Kabita Kunwar. However, Nepal faced a loss against Hong Kong Women in the third match of the group C stage. The team bounced back with a 6-wicket win against Bahrain via the DLS method. Despite the loss, Nepal’s superior run rate ensured their progression to the Super Three.
Super Three Outlook
As the Super Three unfolds, each team will face the other two, with the top two teams advancing to the Global Qualifier. The fixtures will be available soon on the official ICC website.
The competition is poised to be intense, with all three teams in strong form. Whether it will be Nepal leading, the hosts leveraging their home advantage, or UAE coming up with another strategic move, the outcomes of the Super Three will determine the fate of the two teams and their ticket to the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup.
