Cricket Ireland has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming three-match home WT20I series against the Pakistan Women’s team, set to take place in August 2025. All three matches will be hosted at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin, scheduled for August 6, 8, and 10.

This series will reignite the rivalry that last played out in 2022, when Pakistan hosted Ireland in Lahore for a T20I series. Ireland claimed the first match, Pakistan levelled the series in the second with a 6-wicket win, and Ireland sealed the series with a decisive 34-run victory in the final game.

Lloyd Tennant’s First Series as Head Coach
This will also mark a significant milestone for Ireland Women’s cricket, being the first assignment for newly appointed head coach Lloyd Tennant. He succeeds Ed Joyce, who stepped down in February after a six-year tenure. Joyce’s final assignment was Ireland’s campaign in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan, where they missed out on qualification for the 2026 edition in India.
Tennant brings considerable experience to the role, having served as the assistant coach for Manchester Originals in The Hundred and as the regional coach for Central Sparks. He is a Level 4 qualified coach certified by the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board).
“It’s such a great time to be involved in women’s cricket, given its rapid development around the world,” Tennant shared. “This Ireland Women’s squad has moved forward enormously under Ed Joyce’s guidance, and I hope to continue his great work.”
This series is part of a packed home season for Ireland, which also includes a white-ball series against Zimbabwe in July. Ireland Women will host Zimbabwe for:
-
A three-match T20I series at Pembroke Cricket Club on July 20, 22, and 23
-
A two-match ODI series at Stormont Cricket Ground, Belfast, on July 26 and 28
