Shreyanka Patil, a key player for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has been ruled out of the entire Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season due to a shin injury.

The 2024 WPL Purple Cap winner and one of the most impactful spinners for RCB was initially sidelined due to a recurrent finger injury, sustained during a match against Pakistan at the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, where she injured the fourth finger of her left hand while attempting a catch. This injury forced her out of the remainder of the Asia Cup.
Continued Struggles with Fitness
Although she made a brief return in the Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE, Shreyanka was not fully fit and subsequently missed India’s home series against Ireland and the West Indies. Her recurring injuries have prevented her from regaining full match fitness.
WPL 2025 Absence
Ahead of WPL 2025, Shreyanka appeared in RCB’s promotional content but did not feature in the opening match, raising concerns about her fitness. She later confirmed the news through social media, writing:
“Heartbroken, but I will fly again.”
The statement reflected her emotional struggle while also signaling her strong determination to bounce back stronger.
Shreyanka is a valuable all-rounder, known for her contributions with both bat and ball. Her absence is a major blow to RCB and India, as she brings balance and energy to any side she plays for.
Focus on Recovery and Comeback
Despite the setback, Shreyanka is training diligently to regain full fitness. Her latest social media updates show her hitting the gym and spending time in the nets, a reassuring sign for fans and selectors.
Though she will miss the upcoming England series, her steady progress suggests a possible return in the near future. Her commitment to recovery and hard work is earning praise and generating optimism about her comeback.
